3-days workshop for a political philosophy of space
During this workshop we will explore and apply the tool of “analog square radio”. The radio is our playful medium for the re-appropriation of the public sphere and for the creation of a spontaneous public forum that invites both, participants and passers-by to enter into a dialogue about needs, identities, questions, and ideals. Different perspectives are welcome to clash! Sender and receiver roles permanently change – our definition of radio is broad: it is audible and watchable at the same time, involving different artistic practices such as performance, dance and music.

Let’s use our right to define the city ourselves – we who are present are the ones in power!
Tirana’s urban environment is our starting point: How can we read and analyze the architecture of the city? What does the urban fabric tell us about its societal structures and hierarchies? Who is in power and who regulates the public sphere? Which role does collective memory and the narratives of history play in our daily orientation in the city? How do I as a citizen find my place in this social fabric?

WHAT ARE WE PLANNING TO DO?
We will explore a certain spot in Tirana that shows well the clash of different influential forces. The careful examination of its environment will enable the group of participants to formulate questions and approaches that will lead us during our experimentation with conventional and innovative radio formats. Participants will get to know practical tools and techniques of analog radio-making. The aim is to create a unique analog radio-show on a public spot in Tirana.

WHO CAN PARTICIPATE
We invite citizens of all ages and backgrounds, whether artists or not, to take part! The workshop is free of charge. The detailed programme will be announced upon registration.
